The
People's Poet Anthology 2004 : the second annual anthology from
The People's Poet.
Text
from the back cover
Welcome to a new concept in poetry publication!
The
People's Poet has been getting new writers noticed and published
for two years now, without costing them a penny. This year,
our work has extended into art and literary events and we now
have a catalogue of books for sale.
The
writers and visitors to the website www.thepeoplespoet.com have
been busy all year submitting work, reading and interacting
with each other and more importantly selecting the contents
of this book.
The
panellist - all writers - have selected their favourites; forming
approximately half of the contents of this book and the remainder
has been chosen by the writers and readers themselves online.
By
purchasing this book, you have supported new poetry Worldwide.
Thank
you.

were:
The
People's Poet 2003 was Alan
Corkish from Liverpool. Please see our
Hall of Fame page. Alan's personal anthology Glimpses of
Notes will be complete and launched at the November 2004 launch
of Anthology III in Liverpool.
the
other nine of the top ten were:
Peter
Nightingale
John Whitmarsh
Yvette Hawkins
Paula Brown
Thomas Moore
Carlton Hunt
Geoff Hough
David Savoury
Steve Todd
They
all received certificates or had them sent on in the post.
Unfortunately,
no payment was available to writers at this event from the 2003
Anthology sales because the 2003 anthology
did not break even on its costs. If we sell enough of the Anthology
II to make a profit, this payment will be made to the relevant
writers at the November 2004 launch of Anthology III in Liverpool.
Please consider supporting us by purchasing our books and/or
by ordering our books to borrow from your local library. We
are self-funded and we depend upon sales to be able to continue.
