Our current supported magazine is a single publication and so no address or email address is necessary.

The first year it was Gentle Reader, the second year, it is the one-off publication of the Dictionary of Peace by Prof. Kurt F. Svatek from Austria. Next year it will be Poetry Cornwall. We are open to suggestions for future years.

Our Second Year's (current) supported small press magazine is the Dictionary of Peace by Professor Kurt. F Svatek. This is a one-off publication. Subscriptions received while stocks last will receive one of these.
Our First Year's supported small press magazine was Gentle Reader.

Gentle Reader started nine years ago as a South African magazine but
is now being produced in the UK. It is a quarterly magazine that is packed
full of short stories, and receives submissions from all over the world: Canada, Holland and Kazahkstan to name but a few.

E-mail Lynne Jones Gentle Reader

Read what Lynne has to say about the magazine:

Gentle Reader is a short story magazine aimed at the person who enjoys a good read. The subject matter is varied - crime, comedy, romance, science fiction - and appeals to a broad range of readers. I have also included a letters page, so that readers can express their views. There is at least one poem and a short non-fiction article (usually humorous and anecdotal) on general topics.

One of the main ideas behind my publishing this magazine is to give readers
of short stories something with a bit more substance that is not necessarily
literary, the other reason is to help good quality writers have their work
published. Writers need to subscribe to the magazine before I accept their
work, but payment is one free copy.

Email submissions are welcomed. Copy and paste the work into the body of
the message and put 'submissions' or something similar in the subject. Do
not send your work as an attachment until I know you. My virus checker will
delete it. Paper submissions are also welcome. Please include a stamped
addressed envelope or an IRC for the reply.

Please include a title page with your name and postal address (and Email if appropriate) and approximate number of words. Story length: 800 - 2000 words

Subject matter: crime, mystery, horror, adventure, weird, historical,
science fiction (not fantasy or erotica), comedy, romance with a
difference (look at a new angle this is not just a women's magazine) and
stories that have a 'twist in the tail'.

Poems are welcome as long as they are something that will appeal to a
wide audience not too esoteric, obscure or self-indulgent. I am inundated with poems at the moment so it must be something special! If sending poetry by Email please use / at the end of a line and // at the end of a verse. The formatting occasionally disappears! NB. the poem must fit on an A5 page.

I am also considering short (up to 800 word) non-fiction articles -
preferably humorous and or anecdotal. Always put your postal address and
Email address.
